(I haven’t updated this website since the end of 2020, but please enjoy 😁!)

I believe that what we design should be thoughtful tools for use, not for addiction. Mindful technology respects users’ attention and doesn’t take advantage of it. I am also driven by projects that involve accessibility and education to shrink the technology gap prevalent among older generations, the underrepresented, and the underprivileged.

In August 2020, I earned my Masters in Human-Computer Interaction + Design at the University of Washington where I further developed the skills to co-create with others to envision a more desirable future. Collaborating with unique forward-thinking individuals helped me keep up with the ever-changing world, and challenged me to constantly reevaluate and refresh my understanding of fundamental human behavior and needs.

I love Pixar movies, Nintendo games, non-fiction, a wide range of music (my 2020 playlist), and I am a strong advocate for accepting various points of view and learning about different cultures.

I am based in Seattle, but I originally come from a small valley in Hawaii called Mānoa.

If you are interested in learning even more about me, head over to my writing page to see a few books that are on my bookstand or look below to see 10 fun facts about me. Thanks for being here.

I have two core philosophies for problem solving. First, think outside the box—explore and examine the ideas all the way out there because while that crazy idea might not be the perfect solution, the one right next to it might be. Second, squeeze the details—once your concept is finalized you need to be pixel perfect, everything including the way your desk is organized goes back into the design.
